Johnny Cash was a rebel, a storyteller and outlaw in black. Cash made country music history on the Sun label in the 1950s. During the 60’s Johnny Cash rose to stardom with his rugged, charismatic personality and ended the decade with his marriage to June Carter and his own tv show. In the 90s Johnny Cash began his "American Recordings" series, which became highly successful and acclaimed. This series, now on cds, reached a new audience with a diverse set of songs, ranging from traditional tunes to alternative rock. Cash honed one of the most unique styles in all popular music. He delved into gospel, folk and rock, but maintained his country music essence. He has much of his music on CDs: American Recordings, At San Quentin (the original 1969 concert), Fabulous Johnny Cash, Man in Black (63-69), Complete original Sun Singles, At Folsom Prison, Essential Johnny Cash and Legend.
